Building on 2017 research by Professor Akiharu Sasaki, which highlighted the advantages of flame photometer analysis for agriculture, the BWB SOIL was developed to meet the specific needs of this industry. Designed in response to field requests and operational requirements, it builds upon the award-winning BWB XP platform, offering all the benefits of the base instrument while being optimized for agricultural applications.

In addition to potassium, the SOIL instrument provides enhanced calcium detection alongside sodium, with the option to use lithium as an internal reference standard for improved accuracy. Its portability and simple ‘Just add Gas’ setup allow for on-site analysis at multiple locations, even from the back of a van. A thermal printer fitted as standard ensures full traceability of sample analysis, making it a practical and reliable tool for agricultural professionals.
